The Apostle Paul first made landfall on the European continent at Neapolis, which is today called Kavala. We will drive to Kavala, where we will see the port and a mural dedicated to Paul’s arrival. We too will traverse the Macedonian countryside to Philippi, where we will visit Lydia’s Spring, the agora, the site of the bema, and the prison where Paul was held.
When Paul left Thessalonica he went to Berea, where he preached to a receptive audience who searched the Scriptures to see if what he was saying was true. We will visit Berea (now called Veria), including a monument to Paul’s ministry to the Bereans. We will also visit Vergina, where we will see the tomb of the father of Alexander the Great – Philip II of Macedon. We will return to Thessaloniki (biblical Thessalonica), where Paul preached the Gospel until he caused a riot. We will enjoy a city tour. Overnight Thessaloniki. Imperial Plus Urban Smart or similar. First established in the 8th Century BC, Delphi was home to the Oracle of Delphi, who was consulted by the ancient Greeks for insight into the future. We see the Tholos, a circular building which would have been the first structure visitors saw when they entered Delphi, along with the Temple of Apollo, where the priestess Pythia uttered her prophecies. We will visit the site of the Battle of Thermopylae, where King Leonidas faced off against the Persians under Xerxes. Overnight Athens. Royal Olympic or similar. B, D.

We will visit Corinth where we will see, among other thigns, the Fountain of Peirene, the bema of Gallio, and the pavement inscription mentioning Erastus. We will also visit Acrocorinth and Cenchreae, the ancient port of Corinth, where Paul had his hair cut off before leaving the city. Overnight Athens. Royal Olympic or similar. B, D

We work with airlines on booking group airfare from anticipated departure airports. This allows us to get the best rates to fly you and the rest of the group to and from your destination. Group air contracts do not allow deviations, date changes, or upgrades, and in some cases issuing tickets at individual rates may be necessary. See “Can I upgrade my flights and/or depart earlier/return later than the group?” below.
Select your preferred departure airport during registration. If you don’t see your preferred airport listed, please select “I need a flight from a different airport”.
If you have booked airfare through us and would like to apply your Known Traveler Number (for TSA PreCheck) and/or your CBP PASSID (for Global Entry), you may provide it to us during registration. Forgot your KTN? Retrieve it here: https://tsaenrollmentbyidemia.tsa.dhs.gov/ktn-lookup
We cannot book your airfare using earned frequent flyer miles or airline vouchers. However, if the airfare we book for you coincides with an airline you are a member of, we are happy to apply your frequent flyer # to your booking for any mile accrual (if applicable).
Absolutely. If you would like to arrive earlier/depart later than the group and/or upgrade your airfare, please contact us at hello@christianexpedition.com
The group’s flight schedules will be provided to you digitally and in the mail 30 days before the expedition.
You are always welcome to arrange your own flights. Arranging airfare on your own gives you the ability to spend personally-earned airline miles for your ticket, handpick your seats, upgrade directly with the airline, or deviate from the group in other ways.
