Yes. U.S. citizens need a tourist visa for Egypt, available online before travel or on arrival in Cairo. Passports must be valid for at least six months after the date you enter Egypt. Passport and entry requirements remain the responsibility of each traveler.
We travel with a licensed Egyptologist guide, a private coach and the same local partners on every trip, and we watch the advice of the U.S. State Department before and during each expedition. If anything changes, we tell the group leader straight away.
Yes. Every expedition is built for one group, on that group’s dates. The eleven-day route on this page is our standard, and groups often add Mount Sinai or continue to Israel.
Upper Egypt is hot from May to September, often above 100°F, so most groups travel between October and April. Early starts at the temples avoid the worst of the heat.
Travel insurance, lunches off the ship, drinks at dinner, the Egypt visa, personal expenses, and the cost of meeting any national entry requirements. Anything not listed as included can be quoted for your group on request.
Tell us about your group and we will be in touch.
