What Does a Church Expedition Cost?

Real prices from current expeditions

What churches are paying now, what the price includes, how payment works, and what moves the number up or down.

Most church expeditions to Israel are priced between about $3,600 and $5,750 per person, including round-trip group airfare. Expeditions to Greece and Turkey run from about $4,400 to $7,700. Those figures come from the expeditions on our current expeditions page in October 2026.

The rest of this page explains what sits behind those numbers, so you can tell your church what to expect before you have a proposal in hand.

What churches are paying now

These are the “from” prices of church expeditions currently open for registration. Each one is a real group with its own dates, departure city and itinerary.

  • Israel, 9 to 12 days: about $3,600 to $5,750 per person. Most fall between $4,000 and $5,500.
  • Israel and Jordan, with Petra: about $4,225 to $5,225.
  • Footsteps of Paul, Greece and Turkey, 10 to 13 days: about $5,200 to $7,700.
  • Seven Churches of Revelation, 8 days: from about $4,360.

Longer routes cost more. Our 13 day Ultimate Holy Land expedition, for example, is priced from $8,175.

What the price covers

What the price includes

The price is one package. On a standard expedition it includes:

  • Round-trip group airfare from your group’s departure city
  • Nightly 4-star hotel accommodations, double occupancy
  • A private air-conditioned motor coach
  • Breakfast and dinner daily, as per itinerary
  • A Christian Expedition tour director and licensed local guide
  • Entrance fees, departure taxes, and airport and hotel taxes
  • Tips for hotel and restaurant staff
  • Audio headsets when touring, name badge and luggage tag
  • Reservation support and 24/7 travel emergency support

Not included unless added: travel insurance, tips for the driver and guide, personal expenses, and the cost of meeting any national entry requirements.

Deposit and payments

How travelers pay

Each traveler registers on your expedition’s trip page and pays Christian Expedition directly. No money passes through the church.

  • $450 deposit at registration. $200 of it is non-refundable.
  • Balance due 90 days before departure.
  • Ground-only pricing. A traveler who books their own flights pays the ground-only price instead.
  • Single rooms. A traveler who would rather not share pays a single supplement.
What moves the price

Five things that change the number

Departure city and season. Airfare is part of the package, so where your group flies from and when it travels both matter. Peak travel weeks cost more than shoulder seasons.

Length of the expedition. Each additional day adds hotels, meals, coach time and guiding.

The route. Adding Jordan and Petra, a cruise through the Aegean, or a second country adds border crossings, flights or ferries.

Hotels. Our standard is 4-star. Upgrades can be priced for your group.

A fundraising amount. If you choose to, we can build an amount into the price that comes back to your church or ministry. Doing it at all is your call.

What it costs you

What it costs the pastor

Nothing. The pastor travels free, and the place is earned by the group you bring rather than added to what your travelers pay. There is no deposit or financial guarantee from you. How the free place works.

Before you ask

Common questions

Why do two Israel expeditions on your site have different prices?

Each is a different church with its own departure city, dates, length and itinerary. Airfare from Miami in November is not the same as airfare from Denver in January, and a 12 day route costs more than a 9 day one.

When do we get a firm price?

Your trip proposal states the price for your group and what it is based on. Your expedition consultant walks you through it before you announce anything to your church.

Can travelers pay over time?

Yes. Payment plans are handled by our team. After the $450 deposit, the balance is due 90 days before departure.

Is travel insurance included?

No. Travel insurance is not part of the package, and we recommend every traveler consider it.

Can we lower the price for our church?

Usually, yes. A shorter route, a different season or a different departure city can all bring the price down. Tell us your budget and we will build to it.
