Petra, Wadi Rum and Mount Nebo
Four days across the Jordan from Jerusalem: a night in the Wadi Rum desert, a day in Petra, then the Madaba map and Mount Nebo, where Moses saw the Promised Land.
Usually added to the end of an Israel expedition: across the Allenby Bridge, south to the desert and Petra, then north by the King’s Highway to Mount Nebo and Amman.
From Jerusalem over the Allenby Bridge to Wadi Rum, then north through Petra and Madaba to Amman.
One night in a Wadi Rum desert camp, one in Petra and, for a next-day flight, one in Amman.
Day 1
A 4×4 drive at sunset and a night in a desert camp.
Allenby Bridge, Wadi Rum
Day 2
The Siq, the Treasury and the Nabatean city.
Petra
Day 3
The mosaic map and Moses’ view of the Promised Land.
Madaba, Mount Nebo, Amman
Day 4
The flight home from Amman.
Amman
Edom, Moab and the land east of the Jordan, where Israel waited to cross.
Four days, day by day. Every group’s version is built around its own dates, its own pace and the places that matter most to its people.
After Israel. This route starts in Jerusalem on the day after an Israel expedition ends. Jordan visas are not issued at the Allenby Bridge, so we arrange them for the group in advance.
Days 1 & 2

Day 1
We leave Jerusalem and cross into Jordan at the Allenby Bridge, then drive south to Wadi Rum, the red desert where Lawrence of Arabia rode, for a 4×4 tour at sunset.
All meals and overnight in a Wadi Rum desert camp.
Day 2
After a morning in the desert, with a camel ride for those who want one, we drive to Petra. We walk through the narrow Siq to the Treasury, then on through the Nabatean city to the Roman theater, the royal tombs and the Byzantine church.
All meals and overnight in Petra.
Days 3 & 4

Day 3
In Madaba we see the 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land on the floor of St. George’s Church. On Mount Nebo we stand where Moses looked over the Promised Land before he died (Deuteronomy 34), then continue to Amman for a free afternoon.
All meals, and overnight in Amman if your flight leaves the next day.
Day 4
We transfer to Amman airport for the flight home, or the night before for a late flight.

U.S. citizens need a visa for Jordan. Visas are not issued at the Allenby Bridge, so we arrange the group’s visas in advance through our partner in Jordan. There is a departure fee when leaving Israel at the bridge. Passports must be valid for at least six months. Passport and entry requirements remain the responsibility of each traveler.
Yes. We can start in Amman instead, add Jerash and Bethany beyond the Jordan, and fly home from Amman.
A lot. The walk from the visitor center through the Siq to the Treasury is about a mile, and the city beyond is several more on sand and stone. Horses and carts can carry those who need them part of the way.
Private tents or domes with beds and bathrooms, dinner around the fire, and a sky full of stars. It is simple, comfortable and the night most travelers remember.
Travel insurance, the Jordan visa and border fees, the optional camel ride, drinks, personal expenses, and the cost of meeting any national entry requirements. Anything not listed as included can be quoted for your group on request.
Tell us about your group and we will be in touch.
