The four Allianz plans we offer, when to buy, how to get a price, and who to call about your policy before and during travel.
Most travelers register six months to a year ahead, and airfare, hotels and ground arrangements are committed long before you leave. Travel insurance is what stands between an unexpected illness, a family emergency or a missed connection and the money you have already paid.
Christian Expedition offers four Allianz Travel Insurance plans, and we are glad to talk you through which one fits your trip. Cover can be bought right up to the day you leave.
The plan most travelers choose. Full medical limits and the strongest pre-existing condition cover.
Classic, plus the freedom to cancel for almost any unexpected reason a policy would not otherwise cover.
The top plan, for higher cost trips. Double Classic’s cancellation and medical maximums, and children travel free.
Essential protection at the lowest premium, for travelers who mainly want their deposit protected.
Cancel for a reason your plan covers and all four reimburse 100% of the trip cost you insured. Dollar figures are maximum benefits, not fixed payouts. Classic is the plan we recommend for most travelers; the Allianz quote tool runs its own recommendation, which changes with the trip, so it may highlight a different plan. Either is yours to choose. Unless otherwise specified, all coverage amounts are for each insured individual on a policy. Plans are priced on the total cost of the trip, the traveler’s age and the state of residence. The figures above summarize the plans; the plan documents govern in every case.
Insurance can be added at any point up to the day you travel, and most of what a plan does is the same whenever you buy it. Two benefits are the exception, and both expire 14 days after your initial deposit. That is the reason we raise insurance early.
Covered reasons are already reimbursed at 100% on every plan. Cancel Anytime is for the rest: cancel for almost any unexpected reason no policy lists and be reimbursed 80% of your trip cost. Available only on the Classic plan, and only if it is bought within 14 days of your initial deposit.
Covered if the full non-refundable cost of your trip is insured on the date of purchase and the plan is bought within 14 days of your initial deposit. After that window, pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plan.

Whichever way you buy, Allianz sends your policy documents by email. Your certificate number arrives with them, and it is what you quote if you ever need to make a claim.

Once a policy is issued, Allianz handles it directly, including all claims. Travel insurance is offered through Christian Expedition as an agent. Plans are underwritten by Allianz Travel Insurance, and benefits, limitations and exclusions are set out in full in the plan documents you receive at purchase.

An upgrade to the Classic plan. If you cancel for a reason the policy does not list, it reimburses 80% of your insured trip cost. It must be bought within 14 days of your initial deposit.
Pre-existing conditions are covered only if you insure the full non-refundable cost of your trip and buy the plan within 14 days of your initial deposit. After that, they are not covered on any plan.
